GoS and Martin Key unveils their second edition
The second collaboration between GoS and designer Martin Key continues where the first left off—in solid 18k Swedish gold. This new edition takes the same foundation of handmade goldsmithing and develops it further, this time centering on a silver guilloché dial, two hand-cut gold octagons, and a movement whose finishing has been taken in a bold new direction with semitransparent ceramic coatings on the escape wheel bridge and micro-rotor counterweight.

Martin Key defines the edition’s overall design expression, guiding everything from the shape and proportions of the unique case to the color tones, material combinations, and fine details. Patrik Sjögren brought this vision to life through GoS’s uncompromising craftsmanship and watchmaking. Executed by Patrik Sjögren at the GoS atelier alongside a Swedish master goldsmith, the case balances intricate geometry with traditional handwork. All gold components begin as castings from a mold that compensates for 1% shrinkage, before arriving in Linköping for machining to precise tolerance, refinement, and final surface finishing with hand tools.
Reflecting this intense level of artisanal work, the intricate design of the case ring features 175 surfaces, all of which are individually filed, sanded, and polished by hand.

The dial is machined in the GoS workshop, sent to a master guilloché artisan in Switzerland, and then returned to the atelier where Patrik applies a black rhodium base followed by a purple ceramic coating—a treatment that produces a deep, lustrous black with a hint of purple at certain angles.

To bring forward subtle gold highlights while keeping the overall tone beautifully dark, the chapter ring and sub-seconds octagon are worked in two distinct stages, with brushing applied after the diamonds are set to bring forward subtle gold highlights while keeping the overall tone beautifully dark. Every component is joined and riveted by hand using traditional techniques.

The strap is crafted from crocodile leather in a semi-polished finish, featuring Martin Key's signature purple lining. The 18k gold buckle is crafted by Patrik in the atelier, using the same dedicated handwork approach as the case.

The gold components begin with traditional casting in collaboration with a Swedish master goldsmith before returning to the GoS atelier for machining and finishing. Each part is brought to final tolerance and surface refinement by hand.

Movement - GoS03

Manufacture movement by Schwarz Etienne with GoS-specific modifications and finishing. Automatic winding with a micro-rotor and counterweight decorated with a hand-cut guilloche piece, finished with a semitransparent purple ceramic coating. The escape wheel bridge carries a semitransparent red ceramic coating while its screw is coated in blue ceramic. All ceramic treatments are semitransparent to preserve metallic lustre while adding saturated colour.

Dial

Silver base machined in the GoS workshop with recesses for both octagons and the recessed seconds subdial. Guilloche applied by a master craftsman in Switzerland. Black rhodium base treatment followed by purple ceramic coating. 18k gold chapter ring in octagon form, diamond-set, black rhodium treated and selectively brushed. Small sub-seconds octagon finished by the same process. All parts joined and riveted by hand in the GoS atelier.

Hands

The GoS arrow-head hands are gold plated and then Patrik applies black Rhodium except for the tips on the hands. The golden tips increase legibility of the hands and is also one of the Martin Key design elements.
